The FAST Association (FASTA)

Welcome to the FAST Association (FASTA).  A major part of Farnborough Air Sciences Trust (FAST), our Members are drawn from the public who support the Trust’s main aim of preserving Farnborough’s unique aviation research heritage from the era of Cody’s first recognised powered flight in 1908 to the present day. The Association was originally created to provide financial and practical support for the Trust and its museum.

Current Association members include many ex-scientists, engineers, craftsmen and specialists who were employed at the Farnborough Research Establishments as well as from the wider aerospace industry and academia both nationally and internationally. Others have a direct connection with Farnborough through family connections, but most are simply aviation enthusiasts interested in preserving the pioneering aviation research conducted at Farnborough and its related establishments over the years.

FASTA Membership

The parent Trust (FAST) is entirely volunteer run and self-financed. The main sources of income are Association membership subscriptions, fundraising events, donations, the museum shop and specialist grants when available. Association subscriptions are a prime source of regular income while giving members special benefits such as regular newsletters, privileged access to talks, organised visits and other social events organised by the Association Committee.
