Farnborough Air Sciences Trust

FASTA

The FAST Association (FASTA)

Welcome to FASTA.  A major part of Farnborough Air Sciences Trust (FAST), we are a membership based organisation which supports the Trust, with currently over 800 enthusiasts and volunteers known as the ‘Association’. Members are drawn from the public who support the Trust’s main aim of preserving Farnborough’s unique aviation research heritage from the era of Cody’s first recognized powered flight in 1908 to the present day. The Association was originally created to provide financial and practical support for the Trust and its museum.

Current Association members include many ex-scientists, engineers, craftsmen and specialists who were employed at the old Farnborough Research Establishments as well as from the wider aerospace industry and academia both nationally and internationally. Others have a direct connection with Farnborough through family connections, but most are simply aviation enthusiasts interested in preserving the pioneering aviation research conducted at Farnborough and its related establishments over the years.

FASTA Membership

The parent Trust (FAST) is entirely volunteer run and self-financed. The main sources of income are Association membership subscriptions, fundraising events, donations, the museum shop and specialist grants when available. Association subscriptions are a prime source of regular income while giving members special benefits such as regular newsletters, privileged access to talks, organised visits and other social events organised by the Association Committee. Just becoming a member of FASTA directly supports the Trust, so join us today and download our Membership Form at the link below, where full details are given.
