Wings Over Thurleigh describes the history and the legacy of Thurleigh Airfield at RAE Bedford from its beginnings until its closure in 1994. It records the establishment structure, the research aircraft and its facilities. The work programmes and their outcome over the lifespan of the establishment are described. The book was produced by an editorial team and first published in 2001, reprinted during 2010 in its 3rd edition. Minor corrections were made to the text and many additional photographs were included.
This edition has now sold out although second hand copies may occasionally be found. In view of a continuing interest, however, the Heritage Group has supported the publication of a Fourth Edition. This is in soft back format. The content remains essentially unchanged from the Third Edition.
Numerous photographs and illustrations complement the text of 243 pages.
