The Rev John Rawlings was a Chaplain to RAE Farnborough from 1968 to 1990 and his passion was aviation. Better known as the ‘Flying Rev’ he was an aviation journalist, photographer, historian and author of eight titles.

Over the years and his tours around the RAF Squadrons, and also at RAE, he amassed an enormous number of personal and commercial photographs and postcards. In addition, he filled many notebooks with details of aircraft, their tail numbers and squadron identity. He also collected articles on RAF Squadrons and collated those into a collection for each squadron. These have now been digitized by FAST and are available for inspection including a sample by No 3 Squadron of typical content’.

Here you can see No.3 Sqn Sample Content.

The current status of scanned documents arranged by RAF/Naval and Army Air Corp Squadrons can be accessed as required in the embedded worksheet below.
