Cooling Garments
When the RAF operated in the Middle East, and later Cyprus, cockpit temperatures during high-speed low-level flight rose to unacceptable levels which risked the pilots safety. Initially air-ventilated undergarments were used and then the experimental water-cooled suits which provided a more efficient cooling process.
The FAST collection contains many examples of such cooling garments.
